Western Hill

The images in this section were located on the western ridge (hill) of Jerusalem during the Second Temple Period (NT Era). This area was resettled during the Maccabean Period and became the major area for upper class dwellings. It was here that Herod the Great (37–4 B.C.) built his palace.
