Bell Tower 1

View looking up at one of the bell towers of the Monastery of St. John the Theologian (= the Chora). This monastery and nearby “Cave of the Apocalypse” preserve the memory of St. John’s presence on Patmos and the revelation that he received there.

There may have been a fourth century basilica on the site and the monastery has been refurbished throughout the centuries.
