Mosaic Floor Detail

A detail of the head of Dionysus (or Medusa?) in the center of a mosaic floor from a Roman villa. Note the fruit and ivy in his hair.

Compare the very similar (!) mosaic found at Pergamum although the Pergamum example does not have the "rolling wave" design around the head!
