Pheidias’ Studio Interior

View looking east at the interior of the studio (workshop) of Pheidias — this was turned into a church during the Byzantine era.

The view, east, is towards the apse and chancel area of the church. The columns, the stairs to the ambo (raised preaching platform), and the chancel screens are all from the Byzantine Church.

This image was taken in July after a big, Zeus induced (hmmm), thunderstorm!
