Stone of Bybon
ID: GSPLOM14

This large sandstone object weighs 315 lbs. [143 kg.]. It does not seem that weight lifting was one of the contests held at Olympia, so possibly stones like this were used as part of the training program. The inscription on it says that Bybon lifted it over his head with one hand. The stone is dated to the sixth century B.C.
