View looking up at the beautifully carved cedar beams in the Justinian (ruled 527–565) of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.
Note the intricate carving! Also, note the Crusader-decorated columns in the church.
Most of the red limestone pillars, quarried near Bethlehem, served in the fourth-century church. From 1130, the Crusaders decorated the upper part of the pillars with paintings of saints whose names appear in Latin and Greek.
