Fort/Tower

View looking southeast at the remains of a large square tower. This tower was probably constructed in the Late Iron Age (8th century B.C.). At that time this "city" may have been the "City of Salt" mentioned in the city list of Judah (Josh 15:62).

After being abandoned, it was used during the later settlements at Qumran.
