Tomb of the Patriarchs
ID: ICHJHB10

View looking north at the southeastern corner of the Tomb of the Patriarchs (Haram el-Khalil). All of the outer structure, save for the top band of crenellations, was built by Herod the Great (37-4 B.C.).
This Herodian structure has been standing for 2,000 years, and through the ages was used as a church and especially as a mosque - note the two minarets. Since the "Six Day War" in 1967 it has served as a mosque and a synagogue.
