Temple Mount Stones 3

This image was taken in one of the tunnels that have been excavated along the southern portion of the western wall of the Temple Mount Platform. Note the bedrock that has been carved so as to receive the ashlar stones.

Note the carved ashlar stones with the well-carved margins and projecting bosses. Because these stones were "below grade," the bosses are not finely dressed.
