View looking west at the outside of the Middle Bronze II city gate (ca. 1750 B.C.). It dates to the time of — or shortly after — Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Note the stone pathway that leads up to the gate. After passing though the gate, there is a similar stone path that leads down into the city — Click Here to view. To the right (north) an additional stone buttress is visible.
