North Entrance

View looking west at the north entrance on the eastern facade of the Roman Temple dedicated to the deity "Baalshamin" (= Roman Jupiter).

Notice the still well–preserved (but defaced) image of an eagle with outstretched wings flanked by a rosette on the left and a garland on the right.

The north and south entrances are much smaller than the main entrance to the temple.

This facade still stands to a height of 25 ft. [7.5 m.]. In the center is the main entrance that was approached by a series of stairs. To the right (north) and left (south) of this main entrance subsidiary entrances are visible.
