Water Storage Area

Arad is a horseshoe–shaped mound. It is higher around the edges of the "horseshoe" and lower in the center. Thus, rainwater was diverted into the, lower, center portion of the mound.

This is a view looking down on to that lower area where water was collected during the Early Bronze Age, the Iron Age, and during the Hellenistic/Roman Periods.
