View looking north along the western side of Beersheba. The double (casemate) wall is visible on the left (west) side of the image. In the center portion of the image are a series of four–room houses, and on the right side, barely visible is the circular street of Beersheba.
Note the surrounding countryside composed of loess (windblown) soil. This picture was taken during the dry summer. The green vegetation in the upper portion of the image is due to irrigation at an Israeli kibbutz.
