Vestibule/Foyer of Theater 1

View looking down on an area behind the stage of the Theater where initially theater patrons could gather. After the earthquake in A.D. 62 it became a Barracks for gladiators. This large quadrangle is surrounded by 74 Doric columns.

This structure was excavated in the second half of the 18th century!
