Kouros Head

The marble head of a Kouros (male) statue from the Archaic Period (7th–6th century BC) that was found on the Island of Samos. One of the features of these kinds of statues is the "smile:" serious, calm, and stable—known as an "archaic smile."
A female statue of this type is known as a "Kore."
