Gate of Domitian

View looking south-southeast at the three–arched monumental gate built by the proconsul of Asia, Julius Frontinus, and that was dedicated to the Roman Emperor Domitian (A.D. 81–96). It was dedicated in A.D. 83. The upper storey of the gate has been destroyed.

Two round towers that are visible to the left and right of the gate flank it. Just inside the gate, on the left, a number of columns are visible. Behind these is where a public latrine was located.
