Exterior of the Church

This is a view of the exterior of the Church of St. Nicholas along with the modern protective coverings. Some portions of the church may go back to the Byzantine Period, but there have been many modifications through the centuries, up to and including recent times.

Note how low the church is compared to the modern level of Demre.
