Back Aisle Fresco

View of one of the frescoes on the arch of the back aisle of Saint Nicholas Church. In the upper right, note the boat with sailors and a saint in it. Saint Nicholas was considered to be a protector of sailors.

On the springs of the arches that originally covered this room, some frescoes tell the life story of Saint Nicholas—one of the few places where at least a portion of this story is preserved.
