Hellenistic Fountain House 2

View looking northeast at the northeast corner of the Hellenistic fountain house that tapped one of the springs at Sagalassos.

The Doric-style structure has been partially reconstructed and is now functional again! Note the Doric columns, the triglyphs, and metopes. The space between the columns and the walls is actually a large "basin" that contains water from the spring.

It was originally built in the first century B.C. After several rebuilds, it was severely damaged by an earthquake in A.D. 518.
