Mosaics of Popes

The "roundels" contain mosaic portraits of all the popes from Saint Peter through the current pope, Francis. There are 16 roundels left unfinished for future popes.

From right to left are John Paul I, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis (the current pope, 2018).

Please note the "halo" around the head of John Paul II. He was "canonized," declared a saint, on April 21, 2014.
